Katie and James' musical journey began 15 years ago at an open mic in Wrexham, where they instantly connected over their shared love for music (and the TV series ‘The Office’!). Fast forward 7 years to James proposing on the rocks outside Cafe Del Mar in Ibiza, and to beginning life as a married couple.
Igloo hearts' live performances, held at esteemed venues like the Liverpool Philharmonic, Llangollen International Eisteddfodd, and Focus Wales International festival, exhibit a unique blend of intimacy and grandeur. Katie was featured on series 2 of Channel 4's 'The Piano' where judge Mika described her audition as 'One of the best piano and vocal performances they had ever seen'. Having secured recognition in the Purbeck Folk Rising Competition, Liverpool Songwriting competition and Radio Wigwam's Awards (Folk category), Igloo Hearts have enjoyed numerous BBC Introducing and regional radio plays. With their distinctive fusion of classical and modern influences, this duo creates a lasting impact on the listener with exciting yet beautiful ‘goosebump inducing’ performances.
